The dough, the dough, the dough.
That is what Pizza is all about. Without the basic foundation the rest will never be satisfying.
I personally like a thin crust pizza for the most part. Every know and then I will have a hankering for a deep dish, but for the most part, if it isnt going to be a Chicago style pizza (recipe coming soon) it has to be thin!
Pizza Crust – makes 2 thin 12” pizza’s
Ingredients
1 1/2 cup water warm (not hot!!)
1 to 2 tsp sugar
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 package)
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1/3 cup olive oil
Instructions
In a mixing bowl add water, sugar, and yeast. Let rest for 10 minutes (or until frothy)
In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt, stir. Then add olive oil and yeast mix.
Mix with a wooden spoon until still, and then knead with your hands for approx. 3 to 5 minutes.
Divide the mix in 2 (for thinner crusted pizza) and shape into a ball. Rub with olive oil, cover and place in a warm area to let rise. For best results I leave mine on a plate or flat object. Vs the mixing bowl.
