Apple Crisp/Crumble

I have always loved Apple pie, Apple Crisp, and apple dumplings, but of the 3, the quickest and easiest is by far Apple Crisp. Most of the ingredients should be on hand in any kitchen, making this a quick go to when you want something sweet and delicious.

There are a few different recipes and a a few different cooking methods, but below is basically how I learned to make it, minus the extra ingredient.

I have added an optional ingredient(s, that i think just add a little more to the ordinary and have pretty much incorporated the salted caramel into mine every time, but this is an optional choice and you can decide if you want.

Filling
4 to 6 apples
2 heaping spoonfuls sugar
1 spoonful brown sugar
Cap of vanilla
1/2 stick butter melted
1/2 cup salted caramel chips, or semi sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Topping
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup oats
3/4 cup flower
1 stick butter melted

Preheat oven to 350
For the filling peel (optional) and cut up the adds apples placing in a bowl. Add sugars, vanilla, and butter stir to coat apples. Pour into a 9×9 pan. Sprinkle the salted caramel chips evenly over the top and place in the oven while you prepare the topping.

For the topping:

Mix ingredients in a bowl. Remove the pan from the oven, and sprinkle crumble mixture over the top.

Place back in the oven and bake for 40 minutes. Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes.

You can also drizzle with a Chocolate sauce or a caramel sauce, and of course always serve with vanilla ice cream!

I hope you enjoy this recipe and as always let us know what you think! we love feed back.
