Sweet Pizza Sauce

Sweet sweet Pizza Sauce

If you are a Chicago style pizza lover, this is a sauce for you! I made this a few times, and it quick became a staple sauce for homemade pizza nights. I know it is easier to just buy the .99 cent can at the store, but trust me… Try this and you will never again buy the crappy generic suce. Not to mention you can freeze this in bags for later, since it makes enough for 6 to 8 pizzas!

4 large Tomatoes cut n cubed (these are the chunks in our sauce… cut them how you like em (I prefer diced).    make sure to add all the juice!

1 small can tomato sauce

4 cloves Garlic minced

1-2  Fresh Basil leaves chopped

1/2 tsp: Oregano

1/2 tsp: pepper

1/2 sweet onion

3/4-1 tsp: salt

6-8 Tbsp: sugar

1/2 tsp: cinnamon

In a stock pot, or deep pan, add and heat a little olive oil.

Add Garlic and saute for 2 minutes over med. heat (just enough to make the kitchen smell o – so – good

add the remaining spices and saute for another 2.

Add the tomatoes and sauce and reduce heat to simmer – cook until the tomatoes are cooked down – 30 minutes to an hour is sufficient

Let cool, place in a sealed container and let it rest in the fridge overnight, take any sauce you are not going to use, and place in small freezer bags and freeze for a later date.
